How Do You Twist Balloon Animals and More?

This blog is a little different then others, as I’m going to show you a little about my other career.
When we started dating, Cody’s family would have family night dinners once a week and at just one of these dinners they were talking about needing another balloon artist (they have an amazing business in DFW, TX and you can click HERE to go to their website).
Jokingly and kinda of serious I asked if I could do it. They didn’t even bat an eye. From that moment, they shared with me all they knew, Cody’s sister would come over and share with me as well. I fell IN LOVE with twisting.
During this time I was working as a teacher’s aid in a PPCD classroom and it was with them I found the perfect costume, fun but not scary. It was also the same group of kiddos that gave me my name “Korkie”. It is the name they used in class because not all could say Kourtnie.
It’s been over 10 years since I started twisting balloons and I’m still just as in love with it. With COVID, I’ve been working on ways to still enjoy the art as so many events have shut down and no one is having parties.
Thus, LIVE balloon classes came about when one of my Facebook friends asked for something her kids could do while home.
That’s right, these are LIVE zoom classes where you or your child can ask questions as we work and also I’m able to see with my own eyes how each attendee is doing and where they may need help. Due note that do to them being live they will go at the pace of those in the class each night. Some classes may get further then others. So enough of me talking… You want the details right?
They will be the week of August 17th-21st and there are two options.
Mostly for kids, but adults are welcome! Just know it might be at a slower speed (though kids learn quick so might be too fast).
One Night- This class is offered all 5 nights and you can sign up for as many classes as you want. Each class and how far we get will depend of the students in the class. But my hope is that everyone walks away with AT LEAST the knowledge and skill to make a balloon dog, with other amazing designs in the ready if we master that one with time left over. These classes will be from 7-8pm.

Camp Twisting: This is one class that will start Monday and will start out just like the single classes but build on our lessons each night leading up to Friday. This will also be student lead on how fast or slow we get through designs. BUT DONT WORRY once you get the basics down you will be surprised with just how many designs you can twist. This class will be from 4-5pm each day, so not to mess with nightly routines.
You will be emailed a supply list at conformation which ranges from $15-25 depending on where you buy from.
